On October 10-12, 2023, as part of the work of the Ternopil Regional Office for International Cooperation, a delegation from Ternopil region visited the Czech Republic to participate in the Contact Ukraine Program, which took place as part of the MSV International Engineering Fair in Brno. The delegation of Ternopil region consisted of representatives of Ternopil Regional Military Administration and local business. Representatives from 5 regions of Ukraine also took part in the Program: Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kyiv, Dnipro and Rivne regions.
The opening of the Program was attended by the Chairman of the Senate of the Czech Parliament Miloš Vystřcíl, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic Josef Sikela, Government Commissioner for Reconstruction of Ukraine
Tomáš Kopečny, Charge d'Affaires of Ukraine in the Czech Republic Vitaliy Usatiy and other high-ranking officials of the Government of the Czech Republic. The event was also attended by Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Petr Fiala.
Within the Program, economic potential, investment and export opportunities of Ternopil region were presented. In the course of B2B meetings, regional entrepreneurs established business ties with representatives of Czech companies and the Czech Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
During Contact Ukraine, negotiations were held with representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic to intensify bilateral cooperation and opportunities to implement joint projects aimed at the economic development of the region.
The Program also included panel discussions with representatives of the Government of the Czech Republic and the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Ukraine and the Czech Republic, experts and entrepreneurs. The panelists discussed international cooperation in the process of post-war reconstruction of Ukraine, the participation of the Czech Government in the reconstruction of Ukraine, the role of contractors from Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina in the reconstruction of Ukraine, and the possibilities of Czech-Ukrainian cooperation in the energy sector.
In total, more than 350 Czech companies participated in Contact Ukraine.
As a result of the Program, a business mission to Prague is planned with the assistance of the Czech Chamber of Commerce for Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
Regional Office for International Cooperation is an initiative of the Congress of local and regional authorities under the President of Ukraine, which aims to develop the interaction of local and regional authorities with international partners who seek to cooperate at the level of the region and territorial community.
