The opening of the Honorary Consulate of the Slovak Republic in Ternopil, intensification of bilateral trade and other prospects for cooperation were discussed during a meeting between the Chief of the Ternopil Regional Military Administration Vyacheslav Nehoda and the Consul General of the Slovak Republic in Uzhhorod
Pavol Panis.
,,The Regional Military Administration is interested in establishing partnerships with the regions of the Slovak Republic in order to develop interregional cooperation. Ternopil region is a land of great prospects and opportunities. I am convinced that if the Honorary Consulate of the Slovak Republic is opened in our region, it will give an impetus to the development of Ukrainian-Slovak relations, promote bilateral trade, increase the presence of Slovak business in the oblast, as well as the entry of Ternopil entrepreneurs into the Slovak market,” said Vyacheslav Nehoda.
In response, Pavol Panis, Consul General of the Slovak Republic in Uzhhorod, expressed his gratitude for the support in establishing the Honorary Consulate and noted that cooperation between regions should bring mutually beneficial results.
Another important area is the development of the region's communities and the implementation of joint projects under international technical assistance programmes aimed at improving local government practices.
The parties also discussed economic ties between the Slovak Republic and Ternopil region.
Regional Office for International Cooperation is an initiative of the Congress of local and regional authorities under the President of Ukraine, which aims to develop the interaction of local and regional authorities with international partners who seek to cooperate at the level of the region and territorial community.
