On 19 February 2024, Acting Head of Ternopil Regional Military Administration Volodymyr Vazhynskyi met with the State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Latvia Edmunds Valantis, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Latvia to Ukraine Ilgvars Kļava and high-ranking officials of the Republic of Latvia.
The parties held talks on expanding interregional cooperation between Ternopil region and one of the regions of the Republic of Latvia, developing cooperation in the economic sphere (in the areas of logistics and transport, green energy, communications and IT, agriculture and mechanical engineering) and in the field of culture.
The meeting also discussed the prospects for implementing joint business initiatives and projects under the Interreg Europe Programme, which Ukraine joined in December 2023.
