The development of cooperation in the economic, tourism, and social spheres was discussed by Volodymyr Trush, Head of the Ternopil Regional Military Administration, and Shahin Omarov, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Albania in Ukraine, during a working meeting.

In addition, the parties summarized the results of cooperation in social and humanitarian projects this year and planned joint projects to support and assist children and families of servicemen for the next 2024.

After Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Albania joined other European countries in supporting our country by imposing economic sanctions and banning Russian planes from entering its airspace.

"I would like to express my gratitude to the Government of the Republic of Albania and the Albanian people for supporting our country in the fight against the Russian aggressor. Albania is a reliable ally of Ukraine, which for the second year in a row continues to provide political, military, technical, defense and humanitarian support. We must also develop our economic cooperation. After all, we will be stronger when the economy is strong," Volodymyr Trush said.

Earlier this year, the Republic of Albania hosted children of military personnel from Ternopil region and three other regions for rehabilitation and recreation, who spent a week in the city of Durres.

Regional Office for International Cooperation is an initiative of the Congress of local and regional authorities under the President of Ukraine, which aims to develop the interaction of local and regional authorities with international partners who seek to cooperate at the level of the region and territorial community.
